Kris: Halloween’s coming up!
Haruna:Yes.
Kris: Did you ever celebrate Halloween as a kid?
Haruna: Well…I don’t really remember..
But my mom told me like when I was 4…
or like 3..
when I’m still in Canada…
I did like..I don’t know
Like it was a big sheet
and a big hole on it..
Kris: Aw like a ghost!
Haruna: Yeah, a little ghost.
Kris: Aww! I had that same costume!
It’s called our parents didn’t shop on time.
Um..any memories after that?
Like in Japan?
Haruna: No..
Kris: So you never really celebrated it..?
Kris: So now that you’re older…
and Japan…I know that it’s different from America the..Halloween is more for adults..young adults!
Haruna: Well this Halloween I plan to be a pinup girls with my two best friends, and well…
we are going to Roppongi,
because you know even you don’t go into the clubs you just..
like they went last year there..
and like there’s so many people dressed up and like it’s so fun..
Kris: Oohh! Ok! Be careful!
Haruna: I will be.
Kris: Ok!
Have you ever carved a pumpkin?
Haruna: Nooooo….
Kris: Do you want to?
Haruna: Yeah! Of course, like a biiiig one!
Kris: A big one! What will you do with the insides?
Haruna: Eat it? Like make pumpkin…No!!
Kris: Ok! That makes more sense. I just imagined Haruna going like….
Haruna: When I was little, I could not sleep without the blanket. And my…even my little toes out..I kinda scary…some kind of ghost or something will bite it or touch it..I would be so scared.
Kris: There was a movie “IT” by Steven Spielberg. Really old movie. There’s a scene where this woman I think is taking a shower..and a hand comes from the drain and pulls her into it!
Haruna: AH!!! Japanese movie does that in toilet.
Kris: Really?? Uh! That’s terrible! So for like years after seeing that movie…
I would ..I felt bad..because like..I would take like the face towel that was in the bathroom and I would put it on the drain while I showered, because I was scared. I figured if I saw the towel move I would know it’s time to run.
I think that’s all the time that we have for today…Uh..you’ve been busy back in school right?
Haruna: Yeah..but been so lazy..
Kris: Well…til then guys! Hope you have a lovely Halloween!
Haruna: Trick or Treat!
Kris: HA HA HA HA HA

Kris: 子供のときハロウィン祝った？
Haruna: うーん…あまり覚えてないけど…
お母さんが言うには４歳のころ…
それか３歳…
まだカナダにいた頃…
やったの…なんだろう
大きいシーツみたいなので
穴があいてたの
Kris: あぁ、幽霊みたいな！
Haruna: そう、小さい幽霊
Kris: キャ！私も同じ衣装あったよ！
親が衣装を用意してなかったって言うんだよ。
それで…その後の記憶とかは？
日本で？
Haruna: ない…
Kris: じゃ、祝ったことないの…？
Kris: 大きくなった今…
日本では…アメリカとちょっと違って…ハロウィンって若い人の為じゃん！
Haruna: 今年のハロウィンは親友たちとピンアップガールになるの…それで六本木に行く予定
クラブに行かなくても…
去年彼女たち行ったんだけど
いろんな人が仮装してて楽しかったんだって
Kris: へぇ！そう！気をつけてね！
Haruna: 気をつけます。
Kris: うん！
かぼちゃ掘ったことある？
Haruna: ううん…
Kris: やってみたい？
Haruna: うん！もちろん、でっっっかいの！
Kris: おおきいの！中身はどうするの？
Haruna: 食べる？それかパンプキンなんとか作る…違う！
Kris: はい！そっちのほうが理解できるね。ただHarunaがこうするイメージが…
Haruna: 小さい頃、毛布なしで眠れなかったの。もし…つま先が出てても…怖かったの…幽霊かなんかに噛まれるか触られるって思って…すごく怖かったの。
Kris: 「IT」って映画、Steven Spielbergの。結構昔の映画なんだけど。女性の人がシャワー浴びてるシーンがあるんだけど…排水口から手が出てきて彼女を引きずり込むの。
Haruna: あぁ！日本の映画でそれトイレでやるよ。
Kris: 本当に？？うわぁ！酷い！その映画見てから何年かね…よく…申し訳ないんだけど…バスルームにあるフェイスタオルをね排水口の上においてシャワー浴びてたの、怖かったから。それでタオルが動いたら私もすぐ逃げられるって思ってたから。
今日はもうそろそろ時間かな…学校が始まって最近忙しくしてる？
Haruna: うん…でもなまけてる…
Kris: じゃ…次回まで！いいハロウィンを！
Haruna: Trick or Treat!
