食べず嫌いのAndrewが未体験の日本食品を試してみるシリーズ、今回は夏なので涼しげな和菓子を試してもらいました！ちょっと食べ方に工夫が必要なのですが、ちゃんとできたでしょうか？

Picky eater Andrew is met with a traditional Japanese sweets this time around. Because it’s summer, we decided to give him a nice and breezy summer sweets that requires a little bit of work to eat…was he able to eat it properly?

Hello!

I got a gift from my friend today

I forgot his name…but it looks delicious anyways and I’m sure I’ll enjoy it

I like pink flavored things?

That’s how you open it right?

I assume I’m supposed to take the contents out of the tube and place it into a container

Is this right?

So this is a square thing too so I’d assume its to…

Oh…is it upside down?

Now I ooooh! ok…

Alright…I’m pushing it out

Ooooohhh here it comes

It squirted on me

This…looks appetizing already

Anything that you have to squeeze out of a tube and makes a nice big splosh sound,

is obviously going to be delicious

It’s kind of like jell-o but…in a rectangle

Oh it’s stringy!

Oh cause I squeezed it through the um…holes here…

Here we go, first attempt…

What’s going to happen? What’s going to happen?

It’s good…it’s not as sweet as I thought it would be

But it definitely does smell like um peaches

I thought that there would be a little more…flavor

But its kind of um…um…bland?

But I can definitely taste the peach in it

I’m used to…to RICH flavors

It’s kinda fun to eat

Excuse me, I shouldn’t talk with my mouth full

It’s kind of fun to eat because its like spaghetti

But its peach flavored

I do like the package, I’m not a lot of fan of work…like opening it and pushing a stick through it

But um I think its worth it

And it makes fun little stringy spaghetti things

So go to your local supermarket and try it today!

So afterwards I found this pack

Obviously, this is what was supposed to go on the jelly stuff to make it sweeter

I’m just going to one-shot it

It’s all going to the same place anyway, right?

ただの予想だけど、たぶんこの中身をなんかの容器に入れるんでしょう

これ…もうすでに美味しそう

チューブから押し出す物で「スプロッシュ」って音する物は

絶対美味しい

ゼリーみたいだね…四角い

糸っぽい！

あぁ、あそこから押し出したから…この穴…

それでは、最初に…

どうなるかな？どうなるかな？

美味しい…想像と違ってあまり甘くない

でも確実に桃の匂いはする

もうちょっと味するのかと思った

なんか味が…少し…地味？

でも桃の味はちゃんとするよ

でも、味が濃いのに慣れてるから

これ食べるの楽しい

すみません、食べてる最中に話してはいけません

スパゲッティみたいだから食べるの楽しい

パッケージが好き、普段は面倒くさいものは嫌いだけど…こうやって開けて、棒を押し通すのとか

でもこれならいいかな

それにスパゲッティみたいな楽しい物ができるし

なので近所のスーパーに行って食べてみよう！

食べ終わってからこれ見つけたんだけど

それで…

絶対これゼリーっぽい物の上にかけてもっと甘くするものでしょう

Squirted

直訳では「噴出」です。ですが「○○（液体）が吹き出る」や「吹きかける」などのニュアンスのほうがあっているかもしれないです。

Bland

地味。普段は味に関する表現です。地味な味やあまり味がしないときに使う単語です。

Excuse me, I shouldn’t talk with my mouth full

海外では（特にアメリカでは）口の中に食べ物入ってるときに話すのはとても礼儀が悪いです。例えば：食べている時に質問などされたら、食べていることを合図して、食べ終わったら質問に答えるのが普通です。

I’m not a lot of fan of work

ここで使われている「fan」は普段日本語で使われている「ファン」の意味とは違って、あまり好きじゃない物・事に関して使えるフレーズです。「I’m not a fan」はだいたい何に関しても使えます。「Do you like dancing?」に答えるとき「I’m not a very big fan of dancing…」などの用に答えられます。好きなときは「not」を使わないで「I’m a fan of dancing」など言えます。

One-shot

Andrewがここで使う「one-shot」の意味は一気飲みの意味です。他にも「you only get one shot」などで使うと「チャンスは一回しかない」との意味です。なので、全体的に「one-shot」を使うと「一回だけ」の意味があります。

Just peachy

ここでは付属のシロップが桃味なので、言葉遊びで「just peachy」を言いましたが、実際「peachy」などは「great」や「awesome」の意味があります。例：「how is everything?」「just peachy」の用に使います。言い方によって皮肉に使われる場合が多いかもしれないです。
