Maroon 5 and Muse got together and had a baby and it was Nell
このフレーズはあるアーティストがAとBのアーティストを混ぜた感じって表すときに使えます。直訳で言うと「Maroon 5 と Muse が一緒になって子供を産んだ」ですが、イメージしやすい表現です。
Maroon 5 meets Muse
こちらは上のフレーズよりもう少し世間的に優しい言い方です。ここで使われてる「meet」は２つのバンドが出会うことを表現してます。
What’s the first song that you can remember of theirs that really left an impression.
「このバンドの曲の中で最初に聴いて、印象に残った曲はどれ？」が直訳です。ここで使われている「really left an impression」は「印象に残る」の意味で、感想などを伝えるときによく使えるフレーズです。
How did that song make you feel?
直訳で言うと「この曲を聴いてどう感じた？」です。曲の感想を聞き出す質問です。こえれは曲だけじゃなくても、映画や本などでも使えます。例：How did that movie make you feel?
it’s gonna happen
なにかが起こる、の意味です。ここの「its」が「なにか」になってますが、例えば会話で「when are you going to cut your hair?」いつ髪の毛切るの？と聞いて「I’m not sure but its going to happen」わからないけど、絶対切る。と返します。トピックの内容について絶対やる、や何かが起こることを表現するときに使えるフレーズで、かなり便利です。
the sound is kind of round
このフレーズはJunkoがImagine Dragonsの音を形で表してます。柔らかくてフワフワしている音をroundで表現しています。
Sharp notes
ここで使っている「sharp notes」は音楽のシャープじゃなくて、音が尖っていることを表現しています。うるさい、乱暴な音を尖っている、sharp、として言い換えています。

This time we’re going to teach you how to describe artists and songs
Kristina: Mhm.
Soooooo, Jun! Who is your favorite artist?
Junko: One of my favorite artists…probably be this rock band from Korea and they’re called Nell.
Kristina: Nell?
Junko: The easiest way to explain how they sound…it’s kind of like, Maroon 5 and Muse got together and had a baby and it was Nell.
Kristina: God that sounds beautiful.
Junko: Another way you could say that is Maroon 5 meets Muse.
Kristina: That’s a more work friendly comment.
Junko: Definitely. Probably a better choice when you’re trying to describe your favorite band.
Kristina: But I feel like…the imagery of those two groups giving birth to something is pretty powerful.
Junko: So Kristina, what’s a band that you enjoy right now?
Kristina: Right now, I’ve been listening to a lot Imagine Dragons.
Junko: What’s the first song that you can remember of theirs that really left like an impression.
Kristina: Well, it would have to be Amsterdam. Which is the song that you sent me in a LINE message.
Junko: How did that song make you feel?
Kristina: You know, the lyrics can be interpreted in many different ways, but that song kind of made me feel hopeful.
Junko: Hopeful?
Kristina: I know he’s saying I’m sorry. Like…so lyrics like…“I’m sorry lover…I’m sorry”
Junko: That I’ve changed…?
Kristina: “That I’ve let you down?” And then there’s the chorus part which is like…um…“Your time will come if you wait for it…” yes there is that part of regret, but then in the chorus he’s saying, he’s just saying it’s gonna happen, whatever it is.
Junko: So it made you feel hopeful. What about the sound?
Kristina: The sound is pretty upbeat, you know, it’s like…
Junko: It’s catchy. I feel like the sound is kind of round…maybe a harder rock…would just be spikes.
Kristina: Sharp notes
Junko: Yea
Kristina: I understand what you mean.
Junko: I just imagine…
Kristina: A hanamaru?
Junko: Yea…a hanamaru

Junko: 好きなアーティストは…たぶん、韓国のロックバンドで、Nellって言うの。
Kristina: Nell?
Junko: 彼らの音を１番簡単な方法で説明すると…Maroon 5とMuseが一緒になって子供を作ったらNellだった。
Kristina: なんて奇麗な音なんだろう。
Junko: 他にはMaroon 5と Muse を一緒にしたら…って言えるね
Kristina: そっちのほうが社会的だよね。
Junko: うん、そうだよね、うん。そっちのほうがたぶん他人に好きなバンドのことを説明するときに使った方がいいよね。
Kristina: でも…その二組が一緒になって子供を出産するイメージってかなり強いじゃん。
Junko: じゃ、Kristina、最近気に入っているバンドって誰？
Kristina: 最近良く聴くのはImagine Dragonsだね。
Junko:１番最初に聴いて印象に残ってる曲ってどれ？
Kristina: たぶん “Amsterdam” って曲かな。LINEでJunkoが送ってきた曲。
Junko: 聴いててどんな気持ちになった？
Kristina: 歌詞ってさ、いろんな感じに解釈できるけど、あの曲はなんか希望持たされた。
Junko: 希望？
Kristina: 彼が「ごめん」って言ってるのは知ってるけど。でも…歌詞にさ…「恋人ごめんなさい…ごめん…」
Junko: 「変わってしまって…？」
Kristina: 「がっかりさせちゃて？」それでサビの部分ってさ…「あなたの時期は来る、ちゃんと待てば…」後悔してる部分はあるけど、サビにさ、何かはまだ分からないけど、ちゃんと待てば何かが起きるって言ってるから。
Junko: それで希望を感じたのね。音はどう？
Kristina: 音は結構アップテンポで…なんだろう…
Junko: 結構キャッチーだよね。でも、なんかこの音って丸いよね…もっとハードロックなら…トゲしかない。
Kristina: 尖った音。
Junko: うん。
Kristina: 言いたいこと分かるよ。
Junko: 想像に浮かんでくるのって…
Kristina: はなまる？
Junko: うん、はなまる
