Kristina: Let’s play a game.

Haruna: What game?

Kristina: 2 Truths and a Lie.

Haruna: What’s that?

Kristina: I’ll give you two truths. Actually I’ll say 3 things, but two of them are true and one of them is a lie.

Haruna: Ok.

Kristina: Alright…so number 1…my favorite color is yellow. Number 2 I used to carry knives all the time. Number 3…I’m 4 ft 11.

Haruna: Ok. So I choose the lie.

Kristina: Yeah.

Haruna: Uh…you are…not 4..what was it?

Kristina: 4 ft 11

Haruna: 4 ft 11?

Kristina: Final answer?

Haruna: Final answer.

Kristina: I am.

Haruna: I knew it! But I thought you’re more smaller! Sorry!

Kristina: I..my favorite color’s black.

Haruna: What? So you mean you have like carried..knife..before?

Kristina: Yes.

Haruna: Whhyy????

Kristina: I like knives and swords..

Haruna: Ok..

Kristina: Ok you’re turn!

Haruna: Ok so.. my name…my middle name is Maria… Number two… my.. dad is police officer. Number 3 is… I can eat like 3 or 4 hamburgers.. so..

Kristina: I think your dad is not a police officer!

Haruna: Oh..how do you know that??

Kristina: That was a game I played when I first entered college. And the..my resident advisors…made us play this game on our floor so we could all get to know each other. Because we’re all new and um..basically if you have some sort of community and friendship set up it’s a lot easier to get along. Instead of like, “This bitch plays music way too loud, I fucking hate her!” you know? But if, everyone is like friendly they can tell each other how they feel…without being horribly offensive. So a lot of our users are people who are trying to learn English. I know you learned English as a kid, but what other things do you do to help you practice?

Haruna: Ah..well of course making friends who speaks English, because you know..you can’t just do textbooks..and you know just watching those videos..you have to talk and you have to listen. You know..in the face. So that’d be more easier and so they can feel that feeling..so that’d be more fun..and you know..like..

Kristina: Respond

Haruna: And then yeah..like…it’s much better than doing by myself or..I mean than doing with friends so

Kristina: I think learning languages is no different from learning anything as a child, like science..you know? You’re kind of…you’re using what you know…in order to figure out what is being said. Do you have a hard time speaking your feelings in Japanese?

Haruna: In Japanese…

Kristina: Or is it the same?

Kristina: よし、ゲームしよう

Haruna: どんなゲーム？

Kristina: ふたつの真実とひとつの嘘

Haruna: なにそれ？

Kristina: これからあなたにふたつの真実をあげる。実際には３つのことを言うんだけど、そのうちふたつは嘘なの

Kristina: じゃあ…ナンバー1、私の好きな色は黄色。ナンバー2、私は昔ナイフを持ち歩いていた。ナンバース3、私は4フィート11インチ（約149㎝）

Haruna: オッケー、そうしたら私が嘘を選ぶのね

Kristina: そう

Haruna: うーん…あなたは…4…ではない…なんだっけ？

Kristina: 4フィート11インチ

Haruna: 4フィート11インチ

Kristina: ファイナルアンサー？

Haruna: ファイナルアンサー

Kristina: 私は4フィート11インチです

Haruna: やっぱり！あなたはもっと小さいかと思った！ごめんね！

Kristina: 私の好きな色は黒

Haruna: え？じゃあ、あなたはずっと…ナイフを持ち歩いていた？昔？

Kristina: そう

Haruna: なんで〜？？？

Kristina: ナイフとか刀が好きなの

Haruna: そう…

Kristina: じゃああなたの番！

Haruna: じゃあ…私の名前…私のミドルネームはマリア…　ナンバー2…私の…お父さんは警官。ナンバー3は…私は３,４つハンバーガーを食べられる

Kristina: あなたのお父さんは警官ではありません！

Haruna: わあ…なんで分かったの？

Kristina: これが私が初めて大学に入ったときにやったゲームなの。私たちの寮監が同じフロアに住んでいる私たちにこのゲームをやらせたの。そうして、私たちはみんなお互いのことを知ることが出来たの。私たちはみんな新入りだったから…基本的にもしグループや友達関係を築くなんらかの方法を持っていたら、仲良くなるのはもっと簡単になるよね。例えば、ほら「この女、大音量で音楽を流しやがって、大嫌いだ」みたいにね？でも、もしみんながフレンドリーなら、攻撃的になることなく、お互いがお互いのことをどう思っているか話せるよね。このサイトの利用者の多くは、英語を学ぼうとしてるよね。あなたが子供の頃から英語を習ってるのは知ってるけど、他にあなたが英語を練習する助けになったものはある？

Haruna: えっと…もちろん英語を話す友達を作ること、なぜなら教科書だけ…とか英語のビデオを観るだけ…とかじゃ学べないもん…英語を学ぶためには話して、そして聞かなきゃいけない…そう、顔を見ながら。そうすることでより学びやすくなって、そして、もっと楽しくて…そして…

Haruna: そう…そして一人でやるよりもずっと良い…とか、友達とやるよりも
